In just four days George and I will be winging our way to Milan. We are spending September and October there while George co-teaches a class at Bocconi University. Are we ready? not quite
Actually, the bags are not packed as you can see from my photo, but I have giant piles of stuff in two bedrooms waiting to be stuffed into a suitcase in the next day or two. By comparing the suitcase and the piles, I can tell you there will be a lot of items that won't make the final cut. Let's just say the clothes are auditioning for the trip. Many are considered, few will be chosen. On our normal trips abroad we just take carry-on luggage. I like it that way. Every item matches every other item. I know what special dinners and events we will be attending and can organize dressy things for each occasion. Then it's jeans and t-shirts. But this time we will be gone for two months. I think that means more jeans and t-shirts. Since we'll be in Milan Terri has implied I should try to "kick it up" a bit in the wardrobe department. We'll see how that works out.
George on the other hand hasn't given packing much thought. He did buy a few new shirts and a couple of sweaters. I imagine he will have extra room in his suitcase. And he'll probably look great all of the time.
The start of a great adventure! I can't wait to read your posts, mom!
